Gregory Ceurvorst is a graduate of Northwestern University (M.Mus, 2004) and Northern Illinois University (B.Mus, 2003). He has done significant study of organ, harpsichord, and jazz piano performance, improvisation, church music, conducting, music history, theory, aural skills, and keyboard literature and history, In 2003, Ceurvorst was made a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honors Society. His primary teachers have included Douglas Cleveland, Richard Hoskins, Willie Pickens, William Perry Johnson, and Hannah Voigt.
Greg directs and accompanies various choirs and ensembles, plays the organ and piano, and does planning and administrative work. He is an active recitalist, and in addition to his church work, Gregory maintains a full teaching chedule at his studio in Mount Prospect, and was a teacher at the 2004 American Guild of Organists Pipe Organ Encounter. Ceurvorst is a member of the American Guild of Organists, Organ Historical Society, and the Music Teacher’s National Association.
